Back to school Post Holidays

The first day back to a more structured homeschool day after holiday break is easily one of my least favorite things šŸ˜…. I remember vividly the feeling of ā€œI have failedā€ this time last year, since it was our first year, honestly it felt like there were a lot of those moments. The kids are all still excited over Christmas gifts, moms been more laid back it can be hard to pull yourself out of ā€œvacationā€ mode. Maybe youā€™re a more laidback less structured homeschool family thatā€™s great, but we usually thrive with sit down book work in the morning after morning chores and coffee. šŸ’šŸ¼ā€ā™€ļø

So hereā€™s what weā€™re doing today,

ā€¢after morning chores, weā€™re going to come in hot with a read aloud, the girls got a few new books for Christmas, so Iā€™ll let them choose! Although Iā€™ll need to link my new favorite homeschool books for you below!

ā€¢dive into our core subjects, writing, ELA, Math, will probably push off science and history till next week (although Jolene has been bugging me to do her slime kit((why did I buy that šŸ˜…šŸ¤£))so weā€™ll call that science)

Then snack + free draw while mama gets some housework done/ whatever else Iā€™ve been putting off from my to do list.

Usually weā€™re done before lunch with our structured sit down workšŸ™šŸ½ just simple. Thatā€™s what weā€™re going for as we ease back into our non holiday routine (gotta say, Iā€™m glad itā€™s over šŸ˜…) wild right, one second youā€™re itching to put up holiday decor the next your over stimulated šŸ¤£Iā€™ll never understand.

But the most important thing weā€™re adding to our day is GRACE. We are not beating ourselves up if things donā€™t go as planned, weā€™re practicing patience with our littles because if itā€™s hard for us to get back into a routine imagine how hard it is for them. And lastly weā€™re thanking HIM (and our hardworking husbands) for being on this path where we can choose how our day will look, how fast or how slow we will move. šŸ¤šŸ™šŸ½

Donā€™t forget learning goes beyond book work time when you do school + life at home together šŸ‘šŸ¼

You got this mama

Hi, thanks for stopping by!

Just a mom of four before thirty here.. Hobbies include healing without Pharma Gods, being a big supporter of freedom over everything, speaking out on medical tyranny, being shadow banned by big brother, encouraging mothers to take back their power, asking hard questions, baking all the breads, sending anti government memes to all my friends, striving to be biblically correct, not politically correct, hanging out with my chickens, homeschooling my babes, and loving my handsome man.
